Matchu Lopes beat Patri McLaughlin in the Mauritius Strapless Kitesurf Pro 2016 at the Le Morne spot and the famous One Eye.
For some years, the Kitesurf wave on a real world tour. But the new GKA (World Kitesurf Association), one of the many “rebel” circuits offering international Kitesurf competitions, has just concluded its third seasonal event in the Indian Ocean.
Kitesurfing Strapless has always been a popular discipline, and when conditions are tough, all you need is good kitors and constant constants. This time, the final opposed to a Cape Verdian and a Hawaiian.
Waves were relatively rare, so it was important to get the best possible series. McLaughlin tried to find a tube successfully, but it was not enough compared to the performance of Matchu Lopes.
“The world is big and vague, It’s just going, the fact and the fact that I’ve gone over there, enjoyed the moment, and an attempt to get the best of it … To make my two waves and Get another, I wanted to do something special, and I feel good. “So fueled about it, man!” Expressed Matchu Lopes.
“I have never done the result here in competition, it’s only my second time here. My first time was four years old, and I was so scared about the waves and conditions … It was great, unstable and crazy. Now, for the second time here, I did not think I could win. I thought the guys were joking with me! ”
The latest events of the GKA tour will take place in Dakhla (Morocco) and Fortaleza (Brazil).
